Try Dicta before you buy. Pay once for a lifetime license. Keep your recordings on your machine.
Who we are
Dicta is provided by BVR Code CommV, Bergenstraat 96, 8020 Oostkamp, Belgium. Enterprise / VAT number: BE0787557054. Contact: [email protected].
Using Dicta
These terms apply to your use of the Dicta app and website. You are responsible for using Dicta lawfully, including obtaining any permissions needed to record screens, voices, or other people's information. You retain ownership of your recordings and other content.
Your license
A lifetime license costs €8.99 excluding VAT, with applicable taxes shown at checkout. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and the license key does not expire. One device may be active at a time. You can deactivate a device in Dicta or manage active devices through Polar before activating another.
The license allows you to use Dicta for personal or commercial work. Do not share, resell, or distribute your license key, or bypass license checks. Third-party software and models remain subject to their own licenses. A lifetime license does not promise indefinite development, support, or compatibility with every future operating system.
Free trial
You can try Dicta free for seven days before purchasing. The trial key expires seven days after issuance. When it expires, new recordings require a paid license. You can still access, play, and copy context from your existing recordings.
Payments and refunds
Polar is the merchant of record and handles checkout, payment, receipts, and applicable taxes. Purchases are also subject to Polar's checkout buyer terms.
We do not offer voluntary refunds. Please use the free trial to check that Dicta works for your needs and device before purchasing.
This policy does not limit mandatory rights under applicable consumer law, including rights relating to defective or misdescribed digital content, or rights under Polar's buyer terms. Where a statutory withdrawal right applies, it is only lost when the legal conditions are met, including any required express consent to immediate digital delivery and acknowledgment of losing that right. Using the free trial does not by itself waive those rights.
For payment issues or a refund required by law, contact [email protected] or use the support details on your Polar purchase receipt.
Your data and backups
Recording, transcription, annotations, and optional title generation run locally. You are responsible for your device, backups, and content you choose to share. See our privacy policy for details about local data, licensing, and third-party services.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide a reliable app, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, Dicta is provided as available without additional warranties, and we are not responsible for indirect losses or lost data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or statutory guarantees that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms as Dicta evolves. The date above identifies this version. Updates do not retrospectively remove rights you already have under a purchase or applicable law.
